If you are emptying your dehumidifier bucket every day, or coming home to find it full and switched off, you know the hassle. This hose lets your Meaco dehumidifier drain continuously, so you can set it and leave it running without the daily trip to the sink.
How it helps
The hose connects to a tap at the back of your dehumidifier, behind where the water bucket sits. Water flows straight through and out to a drain, sink, or container of your choice. Friction holds it in place, no tools needed. If water does not flow at first, a small pin prick in the hose a couple of inches down releases trapped air and starts the siphon.
Getting the best from it
- Check your dehumidifier model before buying. This hose fits Arete One and Two, ABC range, and DD8L Pro only. It does not fit the DD8L Standard or Junior.
- Route the hose downhill where possible. Gravity does the work. Pumping uphill is not what this hose is for.
- Keep the end of the hose where you can see it, at least at first. A blocked or kinked hose can back up and overflow.
- Trim the hose if two metres is more than you need, but do not stretch it. A tight bend will stop the flow.
Who it suits
This suits anyone running a compatible Meaco dehumidifier in a shed, garage, basement, or spare room where daily emptying is a nuisance. It is ideal if you want continuous drying through the day and night without attention. It is not for you if you move your dehumidifier between rooms often, or if you have a DD8L Standard or Junior model. It is also not a fix for a dehumidifier placed far from any drain. You still need gravity and a destination for the water.
