If you have ever dragged a full dehumidifier across a room to dry laundry near a radiator, or hefted it up to tackle a damp patch on the bedroom wall, you know the awkwardness. These castors let you wheel your Meaco dehumidifier to where it is needed without the strain.
How it helps
The castors attach to the base of compatible Meaco dehumidifiers, replacing the fixed feet with smooth-rolling wheels. This lets you glide the unit across hard floors or short-pile carpet without lifting. They are particularly handy when you want to move the dehumidifier between rooms, position it close to a clothes horse, or shift it to a problem spot for a few hours.
Getting the best from it
- Check your dehumidifier model first. Some Meaco units, including certain Arete and ABC models, already come with castors fitted, so you may not need these.
- Fit all four wheels before moving the unit, even if you only plan to roll it a short distance, to keep it stable.
- Move slowly over thresholds or carpet edges to avoid tipping.
- Return the dehumidifier to a central spot for daily running, as this gives the most even drying for the whole room.
Who it suits
These suit anyone with a Meaco ABC or Arete dehumidifier that did not come with castors already fitted. They are ideal if you have back trouble, live in a multi-storey home, or frequently move the unit to dry laundry. They are not for use on deep-pile carpet or uneven floors where small wheels can catch, and they will not fit dehumidifiers outside the stated model range.
