MeacoDry Arete One 25L Dehumidifier / Air Purifier

If your house has six bedrooms or fewer and you are fighting mould on the walls, streaming windows, or washing that takes days to dry, this machine is built for you. It tackles the damp that causes these problems while also cleaning the air you breathe, so you do not need two separate boxes sitting in the corner.

How it helps

The Arete One is a compressor dehumidifier. It pulls in moist air, removes the water into a tank, and blows dry air back into the room. At the same time, air passes through a medical-grade HEPA filter that traps dust, pollen and other particles. You can run it as a dehumidifier in winter, or switch to purifier-only mode in warmer months when damp is less of a problem. It has two fan speeds and a variable humidistat so you set the humidity level you want. For drying clothes, the Smart Laundry mode runs at full power. If you prefer not to empty the tank, you can attach a standard garden hose for continuous drainage.

Getting the best from it

• Position it against a wall with space around it for airflow; the feet and hidden castors keep it tidy and stable.
• Use Night Mode when you want it near a bedroom: every light turns off, the fan drops to low speed, and button presses stay silent.
• Check and wash the dust filter regularly, and replace the HEPA filter when needed to keep air quality high.
• Keep the room above 5 °C; below this the compressor will struggle to extract moisture efficiently.

Who it suits

This suits families in larger homes, up to six bedrooms, who want one unit that handles both damp and dirty air. It is also useful in garages, boats or caravans where space is tight. It is not for tiny flats where a smaller dehumidifier would do, nor for unheated spaces that drop below 5 °C regularly. If you only need occasional drying in one small room, a simpler machine will serve you better and cost less to run.
