If your home smells of last night's dinner, stale smoke, or the faint chemical tang of traffic fumes drifting in from the road, ordinary dehumidifying is not enough. The MeacoDry Arete One can do more than dry your air. With the charcoal filter fitted, it draws out odours and pollutants while it works, so the room smells fresher and feels cleaner to breathe.
How it helps
The filter is made from coconut charcoal, a porous material that traps smell particles and volatile organic compounds, the pollutants found in cigarette smoke, cooking fumes, and outdoor air pollution. As your Arete One pulls air through to remove moisture, the charcoal layer captures these unwanted extras before they circulate back into the room. You get drier air and noticeably better air quality from one machine.
Getting the best from it
- Choose this charcoal filter if smells or pollution are your main concern. If dust and allergens bother you more, the H13 HEPA filter is the better choice.
- Swap between filter types as your needs change, perhaps charcoal in summer when windows are open to traffic fumes, HEPA in spring when pollen arrives.
- Expect slightly louder running and marginally less water extracted when the charcoal filter is fitted. This is normal, not a fault.
- Keep the spare filters sealed in their bag until needed. Once opened, they cannot be returned.
Who it suits
This suits Arete One owners living near busy roads, in rented accommodation with lingering smoke smells, or anyone who cooks frequently and wants to clear the air fast. It is not for those who need maximum moisture removal above all else, since the charcoal filter slightly reduces extraction efficiency. It is also not for anyone wanting HEPA-grade particle filtration, or for use alongside the HEPA filter, as the machine accepts only one type at a time. If you do not already own an Arete One dehumidifier, these filters will not fit any other model.
